London International Awards presents award live
at PETRONAS Kancil Awards Festival In Malaysia
London International Awards (LIA) is pleased to sponsor and award the Young Kancils
Challenge 2022 winning team with three placements to Creative LIAisons 2023. This
honour was presented at the 2022 PETRONAS Kancil Awards Festival in the presence
of the Malaysian creative community.
The winning team, OLD KANCILS from Leo Burnett Malaysia, received one coveted
spot to the Creative LIAisons onsite programme in Las Vegas 2023, plus two spots into
the global, virtual, one-to-one bespoke coaching program, featuring mentoring sessions
from the top global creative people.
Creative LIAisons is a global game-changing academy that was set up to inspire,
educate and nurture young creatives by giving them access to and enabling them to
learn from some of the best names in the industry. Industry leaders have praised this
initiative as being an invaluable training tool for young creatives. Since its inception in
2012, about 1000 young creatives have had the opportunity to participate in this
programme.
The OLD KANCILS, made up of Farah FARID – Senior Copywriter, Kah Yan LIM – Art
Director and Jia Ying CHEW – Strategic Planning Manager of Leo Burnett Malaysia,
beat 17 other teams in Young Kancils Challenge, sponsored by Subway. Each team
had only 24 hours to work on the brief before presenting their idea in front of a jury
made up of client, media and advertising professionals. They were also expected to
present their idea in the most persuasive and engaging way possible during the 10-15
minutes that were allocated to each team.
Barbara Levy, President of LIA, said: “We are very happy to journey with the Malaysian
creative community on their Hero journey as they celebrate and honour their best
creative work and outstanding local talent. We especially extend our heartiest
congratulations to the OLD KANCILS for their win. We look forward to having them as
part of the Creative LIAisons programme in 2023. It’s truly an invaluable experience as throughout the years we have seen many past attendees quickly rise to the ranks of high-level creatives, company owners or hold managerial positions in some of the best
agencies, tech companies and brands.”
Andrew Lee, Organizing Chairman, PETRONAS Kancil Awards 2022 and 4As President
commented: “On behalf of the 4As Malaysia, I would like to thank London International
Awards for sponsoring the Young Kancil winners with places to your Creative LIAisons. Without you, we will not be able to celebrate with the creative community made
up of an amazing and diverse group of people who are driven by the belief in the power
of creativity.”
The PETRONAS Kancil Festival, with a list of inspiring speakers from around the region
and local talent, and the PETRONAS Kancil Awards 2022 were successfully held at
Sentul Depot, Kuala Lumpur on 2nd December 2022.

Further information on London International Awards:
London International Awards (LIA) is the Creative Awards for Creatives. We stand as a champion
of the creative process, creatives themselves, and of course, great creative ideas and executions,
and are proud to award the best creative work each year.
Barbara Levy, was the first woman to start and operate an International Awards Show honoring
multiple media types. Now, 37 years later, the company is still the only International Awards Show
completely owned and operated by a woman.
LIA’s mantra is that creativity is everything in the advertising, design and technology business in
all forms of media. That is why each year, LIA assembles the most celebrated creatives in the
industry together in Las Vegas to judge all the submitted work.
All jurors are required to be on-site in Las Vegas for all rounds of judging. Every juror on every
judging panel sees every piece of work within every category of their competitions at the same
time. There is no pre-judging or division of the work amongst the jury.
As a way to give back to the industry, LIA fully funds an educational program called Creative
LIAisons at an approximate cost of $250,000 USD annually. The mission of Creative Liaisons is
to develop, educate, inspire and grow young creative talent. The goal of this initiative is to be
the elite standard in creative coaching.
